People are not possessions, Never, this if he can't have her nobody will. I believe is an overly possessive attitude. He is treating her as more a possession than a person..

I feel so sorry for the lady that was attacked.. My sympathy's to her and her family. And I hope the law just fries him.

I've been looking at the live feed. The problem with the top kill idea is the blowout preventer has already failed. And the the mud being pumped in is being forced out the top of the preventer. You can see it happening now.

But if you clamp or pinch the pipe closed, then the mud, and concrete will not be forced out the top of the blow out preventer and into the ocean... I know it seems like a very simple solution, we have used this idea where I used to work before.. Always successfully..

I'm an industrial technician ( fancy title for Mechanic ) by trade.. The pressures we are dealing with are not unmanageable.. And the clamp I'm thinking of can be quickly designed with the rov's in mind..

I have a possible solution to the gushing oil. Why cant they just use a big clamp, that will screw down and pinch the pipe closed, similar to a vice clamping a pipe closed. .. One could be fabricated very quickly. It may not be a 100 % but it will bring the flow to a trickle.

I believe we have the manpower, there are millions of people out of work and on unemployment, ( including me ) I would be willing to relocate for a while to help with the clean up effort. I would be willing to actually earn my unemployment.... All i need is a rack of some kind, shower and a roof over my head.. ( food would also be nice )

In a sense it would also be helping the economy in Louisiana too. All the migrant workers would need to eat... We are already paying unemployment lets put it to work..

I understand and agree, my only point is that EPA studies document the effect of chemicals, and even if its all natural, they will more than likely want some study attesting to it's effects, on the marine life, on birds...

I heard of this guy, the second week this fiasco started, and he is just now getting to pitch his product ? I do want to see it used, I guess you could say I just have no faith in our government using common sense.

I too would love to see this product used, but without EPA studies attesting to the product being safe, I have my doubts that they will use it..

Hi MrBigTime.
I can respect his right to wear his hat almost anywhere. But in wearing his hat into the court room he's really thumbing his nose at the very establishment that enforces his right to wear his hat anywhere..

And if that establishment ( Indiana Courts ) considers it disrespectful to wear a hat in their courtroom then. I don't believe it's too much to ask for one to remove their hat.

The laws work because we respect them, and our legal system. Even if we don't agree with specifics we still need to respect, and show the proper respect for our courts, or the laws mean nothing...

Hi SBTom,
I agree the Judge needs to be in complete control of his court room. The guy wearing the hat, apologized to the judge for his disrespect, before the judge rescinded his contempt charge. Again this is showing from the hat wearer, regret at his disrespectful action..

I too em glad it worked out this way.

Hi, I have looked every where I can think of on the internet, as far as i can tell, it's not a law to remove your hat in a Indiana court.

However to the courts ( removing your hat ) is considered a sign of respect. Attorney's don't wear suits for their health, it's part of Indiana's courts dress code, and attorney's are expected to obey the dress code, not doing so is considered a sign of disrespect and even they can be held in contempt.

The judge is within the law to hold anybody in contempt that he believes is disrespecting his court room. Just as we remove our hats for the national anthem, we are also expected to show that same respect to our courts.

And regardless of one's religious beliefs, we are a nation of law's that apply to, all equally. So when you walk into an Indiana court, show the proper respect. That means remove your hat...
