As much as I love HIMYM, after the long break and as much as I had been eagerly awaiting the new episode, I was slightly disappointed. The setup for the FWB seemed weak. Suddenly Robin's a slob? We've seem plenty of shots of Robin's apartment in Brooklyn and it's never been anything but super neat and tidy. And remember how pissed off she got with Male Girl and his hippie friends? During Season 2, Robin had spent most of her time at Ted and Marshall's apartment anyways. These "problems" would have come up long before. The whole thing seemed contrived.
The other thing that bothered me was how nothing seemed to carry forward from the conclusion of the Stella debacle. It seemed obvious in those episodes that Robin still had a thing for Ted. Maybe Ted's past it, but Robin's blase attitude to the FWB seemed forced as well.
Marshall's bathroom reading dilemma was decent. I wasn't thrilled by the guest appearances, but I knew that going in.
Ahh well... Still the best comedy on TV by far.
