I wasn't really sure what the plot of this was until reading the article, but now I'm interested in seeing the movie. Thanks for giving me some more info about it, and hopefully you'll grow a sense of humor someday.

From what I've heard a lot of it is to keep flight hours up. Pilots need to practice constantly to stay at their peak, just like if you don't drive your car for a month you'll probably be a bit more jerky with the car at first.

I've also been told that Portland's great for it, since we have oceans, mountains, open valleys, and deserts they can access easily to train for various scenarios.

Only in Oregon? No. Kids unfortunately have fallen out of windows in every city I've lived in, and I specifically remember last summer hearing about one on the news in Texas while I was there for work.

Unfortunately this isn't something that just happens here though.
