I have tried jailbreaking with redsn0w but when I do the (shift + restore) press, and I'm using the correct firmware version of 3.0 but it gives me an error message saying it's not compatible, I'm using iTunes 8.2, and I'm worried to just restore it after the message because it says it says it will update to newest version which I'm thinking would be 3.1.2 in which there is no jailbreak procedure for, is this what would happen and/or can someone tell me what is going on with the shift + restore, I'm sure I'm using the correct version, I was told maybe I should use a custom version of the firmware but I've read that's the only way you can really screw up the iphone, I'm using vista 64-bit, can someone show me a good custom version or help me out in some way?

I have a iPhone 3G OS 3.0, trying to jailbreak using redsn0w but it freezes at waiting to reboot, tried unplugging usb and phone and plugging back in, still doesn't work, can anybody point me in the right direction? I'm using windows vista 64-bit
