don't do it. at&t will suspend your internet for a unkwon period of time, and if you have unlimited data, they will move you to the $25 package and charge you for tethering, that would be $45 a month.

Make sure you run back up with iTunes before you do anything.
You can go to iclarified website, down load redsn0w for the 4.21 to untether and stay at 4.21
Or you can use pwnagetool to custom build 4.33 ( because you had iPad baseband, you had to used custom fw).
There no fix for the GPS. But you can buy a used Magellan or tom-tom car dock with gps build in the dock.
Iclarified website had very good tutorials.

So this phone is locked to Europe.
But this phone will accept ATT sim. Not Tmobile USA. ??? I am lost.
Do locked phone from other country can be use for ATT?

It was 4.21 with 3.10 baseband
Insert ATT sim card, asked to connect to itunes, then it activated.
remove ATT, insert Tmobile, screen go to connect to itunes. I connected to itunes, itunes said sim not support. remove Tmobile sim, then screen go back to regular.
I thought mc605b/a are unlocked.
May be I am wrong.

Try the latest redsn0w to go to special dfu mode.

The latest firmware for 3G is 4.21.
