At least Prosector Bob ("Truth Squad") McCullough has a sense of shame. After being called out publicly for his failure to act, he did.
What's that they say about having a conscience, it's the voice that tells you to do the right thing when nobody is watching? I guess Mr. McCullough needs a bit of watching over the (non)performance of his duties.

amelia51: I didn't chose the timing of the charges. The county counselor's office filed the charges, we found out about it today, and I was assigned to the story. I called the defendants in the case (and mr. gladney) to give them an opportunity to react or respond to the charges, if they wished to do so. that's all I was doing with ms. spitz. in fact, I apologized for the timing of my call, realizing that it probably wasn't a call one wanted to receive the day before a holiday.

How embarrassing for the local authorities to have been prodded by the internet news sites into doing their jobs. I guess folks in St Louis County don't much care if citizens get assaulted . . . until it starts making them look bad in front of a large, national audience.

It is my hope therefore that the court will look at these defendants with compassion and with a requisite willingness to give them the psychological help they really need.
Of course, these defendants should be required to pay for mandated psychological services just like alcohol, drug, and sex offenders are mandated to pay for the programs the court imposes on them."

This post followed the rules but is likely considered too inflammatory for a local predicament.

"We must keep in mind these SEIU union members are typically poorly educated and hence, more easily led to commit caustic acts in pursuit of gratification of emotional feelings or in defense of their belief systems.
Anything or anyone appearing as an obstacle is an enemy. It would be my hope that sentencing would include, besides anger management classes, in-depth courses in tolerance.
I do not wish here to delve into the emotional neediness or the defendants’ likely need for social dominance fueled by sexual impotence so I will confine these remarks more toward humane sentencing... Cont. next post.
