SPOILER ALERT!! ok after having seen it a second time. I will say my only MAJOR gripe is this. The editing of the final battle. Because after devastor has formed and climbing the pyramid, they switch back and forth between this and clearly seeing Longhaul, Mixmaster, Rampage, and Scrapper chasing Sam and Mikela and getting destroyed various ways. Both of these events appear to happen AT THE SAME TIME. So if you can just keep in mind that everything that happens to Sam and Mikela could only logically happen after Devastator is seperated, then the ending can make sense. Oh and the joke they made Jetfire into still bugs me. But I just can't see how Bay and the editors were able to twist up the ending so bad. They HAD to have noticed it and just hoped that no one else did.

and something else Mcmurphy and I noticed when we saw this movie, the editing at the end was horrible. I really wanted to like this movie but after devastator has formed and clearly destroying the pyramid you also see Mixmaster and Longhaul as individuals fighting the military. plus I also thought there was another flaw with the backhoe Optimus kills at beginning and it still being part of devastator later, but I did some research and apparently if you read the novelization of the movie you learn that two decepticons; Demolisher (one killed at beginning) and Scavenger (backhoe that's part of devastator) pick the exact same vehicle mode and color scheme so they are apparently twins even more then skids and mudflap. and the helicoptor isn't Blackout, it's another new decepticon named Grindor, which is never explained to audience either just leading to confusion all over the place.

They couldve shown Jetfires age and frailty without making him a "cranky grandpa" joke. and Soundwave was more than just a stationary character. they both should've been treated better by the movie writers.

I'm torn. You can't go in to a transformers movie expecting to be blown away by the story, it's based of a childrens toy line after all. What really disappointed me was the two things that I was looking most forward to in this movie: the first was Soundwave, all the hype, even frank welker as the voice and he spends 2 plus hours humping a U.S. spy satellite and THATS IT. and the second is Jetfire. This guy is supposed to be as badass and awe inspiring as Optimus and Bay turned him into the comic relief as the cliche "cranky old guy" even making him use a giant cane when he walks around. What the crap? He just tried showing waaaaaaaaaaaaay to many characters. I was waiting for an explanation as to why Ratchet wasn't around then I caught a brief glimpse of him in 2 scenes and that was it. Sideswipe had pretty much the same amount of screen time. So when looking at it for being a movie based off of toys, I have to say they succeeded, but I was still disappointed by some of the characters, or lack thereof.
