might it be possible that these kids didn't think much of throwing rocks at ducks because...well, maybe they have seen circus animals being whipped and prodded, read about raccoon's being beaten by CU students, and probably know what happens in a slaughter house...all acts that we seem to think are OK...Oh, I should mention that I have worked at a number of animal sanctuaries and these stories are abundant...nobody ought to be shocked or horrified that this happened..it's fairly common.
