I agree with what you are saying, and am not necessarily proposing that the idea was Google's from the beginning. Rather I want the story to point out that the FCC seems to have become a rubber stamp of approval for industry wants and needs, rather than a stand alone independent organization.

As I comment above in the post, Honeycomb seemed blazing fast and the suite of ggole apps make it all good. The front facing camera with Google Talk integration is a big leap over what the iPad offers, although that will probably change with the iPad 2 coming soon.

Hey Dan,

No I would not say I am a glass half full guy, just a realist. I understand wifi unbiquity and agree that the 3g vs 4g argument is not that important. And I do comment that the specs are impressive on the tablet overall, it looks great.

My point was that Verizon has NO idea how this is going to be done. Zero. They pimp this as a 4G tablet, but leave out the points that say it requires a hardware upgrade. This will not be an over the air update of anything. I asked 3 Verizon reps what the logistics would be and none of them knew.

And standing on the floor as they pimped this out, they obviously kept glossing over this fact to would be buyers.

And I would disagree that they are taking time to do it right, they are rushing to market a product they tout as 4g with absolutely no idea how they will get to that next step.

Yeah it is getting crazy. The twitter rep helping me out is great (Hi tiger) but he says someone is still attempting to access my account. I have all third party apps cut off, etc .. But as I said if you look at this http://bit.ly/6uvPR5, it appears to be pretty widespread, yet has not bubble up to a tipping point yet.

Thanks BigOldGeek, but I work in the field and am well aware of the measures to take. I checked everything was good. In the end it turned out to be a coincidence, but thanks for the vote of confidence ;)
