As an ARDENT maybe a bit over-zealous devotee of CS Lewis, my concern in the first two films was the lack of adherence to character development, sloppy editing, and the "miniaturization" of the Narnian universe. Compare the immensity of LOTR to The Chronicles. Even though the books are shorter, and feature children as main characters, my family felt a bit "cheated." Our concept of Narnia and it's characters, while not as gory and graphically violent as LOTR, is even larger than Middle Earth.

I really appreciate the interview above. Neesom's comments...ugh....you cannot compare Jesus to Mohammad or Buddha (see The Quest for Absolute Truth by Russell A. Newman http://amzn.to/dFPuRv). I understand that the majority of the world has not studied the difference., and we want a larger audience, to be sure. And maybe that was Neesom's intent: diffuse any hesitancy to see this movie by people of other religions. The more people in the theater the better! The message won't be lost.

I vote for "Magician's Nephew" next, and start work on "The Last Battle" before the Penvensys "age out.!"

Looking forward to Dawn Treader this weekend!!!!

15 years ago @ NewsReal Blog - David,

as an "older" person who remembers the '60s's,reading your articles is a great comfort to me! And, as I've mentioned again, I really dig your style. Finding authors who can present their thoughts in a logical and artistic flow is difficult. There are so many hacks.

Thank you for showing the "gun control" mania for what is, an attempt to disarm the citizens, so we can be herded into ghettos by the "elites." What astounds me is that people, like the lady you mention, are going to suffer greatly if they acheive their goal.

I'm glad I live in Texas. Despite what obama, pelosi, soros, tides, apollo, acorn, aclu, et al, ad nauseum, promote, we are not idiots. (I'll match IQ's with any of the above ANYTIME.) I know many brilliant people who own many guns. It's a hobby for the most part, but also to prevent crime in their home and business. More than a few have saved lives by being armed. I suppose I will have modify my parenthetical statement: a .357 Magnum is a guaranteed deterrent when it's pointed at a criminal's head.

However, no one has ever had to pull the trigger.

More to the point, the Second Amendment stands for the individual (I keep a US Constitution and Declaration of Independence with me at all times) for just this reason, but even though not explicitly stated,
I now believe it was prophetic, as another "check" against usurpation of power by a tyrannical govt., which was the context in which it was written.

Just a side note, as a musician, 80% of the people I know that CHL holders and gun enthusiasts are musicians, teachers and parents. And not ONE of these hundreds, maybe thousands, of people have ever shot anyone. The show total respect for PEOPLE and respect for the rules of usage of firearms.

Columibine? As you mentioned, these kids are an anomaly. I don't blame the guns, I blame their parents.

And I'll stand with Charlton Heston and Chuck Norris any day. And also with a large number of true intellectuals who see the truth in the keeping a Balance of Power and preventing a Balance of Terror.

WOW!

David, I am so glad you for your stand against statism, anti-coloniaism, socialist, communism, progressivism or however you choose to lable it.

And our expertise in composition is beautiful! I love reading it, even when the message is dark.

Your insight into this:

I cannot explain this dystopian paradox other than to agree that politics is indeed irrational and socialism a wish as deep as any religious faith. I do not know that the truth must necessarily remain in the shadows. But I am persuaded that a lie grounded in human desire is too powerful for reason to kill."

is highly astute, and, If I may, with no offense, is , as you probably know, Biblical:

Gen, 2: 4-5 "But I am persuaded that a lie grounded in human desire is too powerful for reason to kill."
4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, AND YOU WILL BE LIKE GOD, knowing good and evil."

There are more parallels, but this reply is not about that.

It is merely a "Thank you" both for the message and the beauty of your writing style, which I enjoy immensely!

Thank you!

Done.Thank you. Over and out,

19.The vast majority of those who attend this rally, which is exactly as what it is promoted as, are, indeed baby lovers, people of peace and faith of some sort (Beck's a Mormon and I disagree with Mormon Doctrine, although they do hold themselves a HIGH moral standard, having "researched" Mormonism over a period of 20 years...hmmm....I've done a lot of research! I am a nerd, what can I say?), people who have actually READ the Constitution, Declaration of independence and UNDERSTAND that it was written for "a wholly religious people, and would not succeed otherwise" (pardon the paraphrase) and as an implement to PREVENT what had happened in England: over-taxation, appointed government officials, lack of religious freedom, freedom of speech....

20.Dude, just go read the documents. Read all of George Washington's writings, ALL of Jefferson (don’t just pull out clips that seem to be "deist. He clearly states his Christianity, although the language of the day is so much more advanced than ours that many people refuse to take the time to understand it.), et al.

21.Want them all in one shot: Go to http://wallbuilders.com.

22.Why did the author just not use the title of the event? “Restoring Honor." Yes, the left is HOWLING mad and making all sorts of accusations. But anyone who has watched Beck more than once knows that he recognizes and actively and vociferously states that there are corrupt, dishonorable people on BOTH sides of the aisle. And not to be any more of an obnoxious "know-it-all" than I already am, but I was seeing that and saying that in high school (in the '70's).

23.The words are usually interchangeable: "corrupt" and "politician." I say the 80-20 rule applies here. We need to turnover 80% of Washington over 4 and 6 years, and term limits set for that. If a law or bill is too complicated for the average Joe to understand it, then it should NOT be considered. Even with some of the greatest minds in history writing our founding documents, I understood them even as a 5th grader.

24.And to honor Veterans and actively serving Miitary is vitally needed. These people go and sometimes die to allow you and I to live freely. I wasn't in the military. My father was, and he forbade me from entertaining the thought. Maybe you did serve, but I doubt it. Otherwise you would know that Evil does not respond to disarmament. It sees that as "opportunity."

25.Or are you one of those "postmodern" or "post-postmodern"-ists who don't believe in "good" and "evil." Very well. Then the government putting you in an internment camp is fine with you. It's not evil. Starve you to death? Raping your wife, daughter. mother...you? Not evil, so you can't complain. As a matter of fact if you don't believe in "good" and "evil" then your words mean nothing. Nor do mine.

26.Things to think about. And from a researcher, Time, News Week and US News and World Report, and yes, even Fox news, is NOT research. It's not that easy. But it is simple, if you are seeking the truth, not just support for your presuppositions.

27.Again, sorry to rant, and I am not angry at you or do I think ill of you. This is anger aimed at the article, the moronic author and the evil that encamps in Washington DC's once Hallowed Halls, now despoiled and desecrated.

28.That's what this Rally is about. Watch it. It will be posted somewhere, probably glennbeck.com, but other sites as well.

8.And then he exacerbated a war to distract the people from seeing what the other hand was doing.

9.NOW WAIT! If you think this is republican propaganda, it isn't. I'm an independent. And my research and info on Civil Rights comes not from "whitey" but Black American Scholars. (Jesse and Al aren't scholars. They are opportunists who have gotten rich selling-out their own people).

10.But I was an independent LONG before Fox news, so you can't blame them. Or Glenn Beck, or Sarah Palin.
11.They just happen to be saying what I've been screaming about for 30 years.

12.The author "conveniently" leaves Dr. Alveda King out of the title. Dr. MLK's niece genetically related...her father worked with his brother throughout the true Civil Rights Movement. She's one of the speakers, and definitely the Most Honored Guest. But what do I know? I'm just an old South'n cracker who agrees with everything I've heard her say.

13.Babies: what is created at conception, according to the scientific community:
14 .http://www.bloodmoneyfilm.com/

15.Unfortunate, the sanguine title, but unfortunately, in our society, it takes something with shock value to get attention. But the message is true, for, you see, I've done the research.

16."Guns, Babies and Jesus," leading with "Guns," seems to imply that the folks attending this are Hillbilliies with 12 gauges, 15 kids, and an unread Bible in which is thrown our "blind" faith through whatever some preacher, maybe like a white Jeremiah Wright, tells us in is it. (Like Obamacare and Pelosi.)

17.But here's newsflash for you, and you will see this as they capture actual footage of the event, which you can view RIGHT NOW at

3.Thank God I live in a state that understands this, and encourages not just ownership of guns, but TRAINING in the proper use, so no gets his face blown-off, ala' Dick Cheney.

4.Yes, we still have crime. Evil never rests, and in large cities in blue states, they are working over-time.

5."Research" point: Crime and unemployment are highest in large cities in blue states who are run by democrats. Who started Jim Crow laws?Democrats? Who started segregation?Democrats? Who started the KKK. Democrats. Who passed the Civil Rights Acts? Democrats. WHOA!! Wait. That doesn't make sense!

6.Yes, it does. In 1958 Dwight Eisenhower tried to pass the Civil Rights Act. He was defeated by democrats, lead by .... LBJ, a democrat. So when LBJ "mysteriously" became president, did he have change of heart?

7.No. He had no heart. He saw the opportunity to create a large voting block by passing A "civil rights" act AND creating a welfare state so they vote for his party over and over and over. Democrats have effectively created a new slave class through propaganda and lies.

I forget who this post was in reply to. I was drawn away before I could submit it, so, in several sections, here it is.
(Several posts...
1.My apologies for the following rant. I agree with you completely until your last sentence, which has sparked a flame of indignation regarding the article referenced:

2.Gun Control and the primary strategies of instituting a totalitarian system. Disarm law abiding citizens, take control of their money so they have to submit to govt. dole, eliminate free speech and free public discourse and dissension (through use of ARMED govt. agents), force out undesirables... I could go on for pages...chapters...books. You see John, I HAVE done the research (I even forced myself to read Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and The Weather Underground manifesto Sickening.) And the FBI does, too. In s recently released (although not without opposition from the "benevolent masters"), statistics from across the USA shows that where law-abiding citizens armed themselves, crime rates, esp. rates for crimes using GUNS, went DOWN in inverse proportion. More guns ala' 2nd Amendment = fewer crimes. Criminals don't want to be shot. They go where the easy targets are. In my house, they will have just enough time to turn and run. And they better be fast. I will not risk my family’s safety

Yep, or at least on life-support. There may be hope. However, as a Christian, I have heard from an anonymous expert/authority, that Jesus will return before Brett Favre retires. So we may have to wait another decade. ;)

WHAT?!?!? The UN deciding a US issue?! Has anyone looked at the people in the UN?!?1 They are not pro-America and never have been. And they have NO authority here. #1, what kind of of "president" attacks a state that's trying to enforce federal law? #2 what kind of person abdicates his responsibility to a HOSTILE UN court? And why the H%^& has the US been paying all the bills for the UN when they aren't Anti-US?
