I "dodged" your question because I didn't think it warranted a response. Do you seriously think any of us at the Camera have time to be posting all day on the Buffzone boards? Also, it is staff policy to sign all posts with our real names and positions. I guarantee you none of our staff is posting on here under names other than their own.

Other Media News properties use topix, which is more like a message board. I'm not even sure the comments can be displayed underneath the articles.

Unfortunately, due to the Media News acquisition, we will soon have to switch to their platforms and they don't have a commenting application. We are testing out IntenseDebate, a local Boulder company. There are a couple of other options, but none seem as robust.
I will look to see if there is a way to time stamp comments rather than have the "12 hours ago" format.
As for the loading issues, I'm not sure why it's so slow. Last week it seemed much faster. I'll ask about that too.
When we do make the switch, we'll use the same commenting app on both Buffzone and Daily Camera, so you'll be able to zip back and forth.
