Actually, the writer is objecting to the wrong part of this truly objectionable legislation. In actual fact, whatever money BP and Wal-Mart have had to pay for credit and debit card services have always been passed on to the consumer. This is how business works and there is nothing morally wrong with a business covering their expenses. However, the government establishing price controls which favor heavy users of credit and debit card services (bog box stores and Big Oil) amounts to corporate welfare. This is indefensible corporatism and should be objected to by all.
