Actually, Romney is making Bain the centerpiece of his campaign - touting his 'business intelligence' and 'job creation'. Think its only fair for Democrats/Obama/opposition to point out the downside Romney's leadership in a private equity firm.

Your blame is entirely misguided at teachers. After negotiating with the district, the salary deal AGREED to by all parties (including voters) was a modest (1% pay increase) and a professional salary structure for teachers (rewarding highly educated teachers) in return for a tax increase to pay for it. Because, the district is now having to account for that in next year's budget doesn't make it the teacher's fault. BTW, look up annual pay growth for BVSD teachers vs. other professional jobs - think you'll find they lag other industries (and inflation.)

As other threads have suggested, the district should continue to look at its administrative staff - which reportedly is heavy at the top with respect to other school districts, in conjunction with programs and future teaching positions. Net is: everyone will feel some amount of pain w.r.t budget shortfalls - but its unfair to make it an exclusive teacher pay issue.

That would actually be magnetic tape data storage which continues to survive. While flash based storage is the fastest growing data storage segment, traditional spinning media still has many advantages in cost.

1% over a 2 year period isn't huge - the total sum may be, but not for the individual. Furthermore, the pay raise was specifically tied to a tax increase which Boulder voters approved (source: http://www.dailycamera.com/boulder-county-schools...
