Geeze,...Day ONE would be the start of something truly life altering for my family. We need a home of our own. My kids deserve to have a stable home to lay their heads at night, and with this economy and the pitfalls of our lives, there is NO WAY that will ever happen. I am crossing my fingers that I get a knock at my door on the 19th from you all.
This is my chain of events over the past year...
1. My mother is suffering from colon cancer. She is end stage. My husband is laid off from his union painting job.
2. We give up our beach-front condo(2 bedroom) for my parents small, unfinished, moldy basement to be live in hospice for her.
3. We switch my daughters school to that district. At that point it is: Me, my husband, our 10year old daughter, and our then 3 month old son, and Pekingese named Elvis.
4.My mom passes away June 3rd. June 5th my stepfather tells us to move out. He no longer needs us. (We find out that the papers he had drawn up to pass the house to us once Mom passed had disappeared, and were apparently faked to get us to do what he was unwilling to do. That which I would have done willingly anyways!)
5. We move out of my parents basement into a ramshackle rental house that was previously inhabited by horders...
We proceed to renovate the house enough to move into under such distressed circumstances less than 1 month after Mom passed away. We sign 1 year lease on Aug. 1st 2009.
6. We find out that among other things, our landlord resents any renovations and is a basic slumlord. She tell us because the gas heater needed replacement, she can no longer keep the house and the house is now on the market to be sold.
7. We are "hosting" open houses every Tuesday from 11-1pm til the house is sold.
We are looking for a home. We have no money. We no longer speak to my dad. Our family is truly at the end of our ropes. It's sooo hard to put on a sunny face when all this is going on.
WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.
PLEASE KNOCK ON OUR DOOR. WE REALLY NEED THIS.<3
