Here's an honest appraisal of the film. I liked it, but it could have been better. The problem here isn't even McG. I know this will probably get me flamed, but it's true. McG didn't really do anything wrong here. The problem here is and always has been those two moron writers. Just like with Terminator 3, they present a decent enough storyline. But, ultimately, they can't develop characters worth a shit and they just can't develop a story. Thus it becomes a whole lot of blah.

The film is not nearly as bad as some people are presenting it as. It's actually quite good. I knew the haters would be first in line to watch the film, despite their months of neverending vitriol directed at the film, and they were. These people had decided long ago that they were going to hate the film and nothing, not even a decent film, was going to change their minds. Unfortunately they were far more interested in saying, "I told you so" then they are in appreciating the film and judging it on its merits, flaws and all.

All in all it was a 7/10 film. Not great, but not a disaster it's being portrayed as either.

There's ONE bad review. ONE. There are a couple of other reviews and they were positive as well. I've read six reviews so far: five positive; one negative.

I think the haters want for there to be all these bad reviews so it'll justify their incessant negativism over the past year or so. They want to say "I told you so." But so far I haven't seen too many of them. That's why they go so far as to invent them even.

You're lying. You're one of those Terminator "fans" (or fan of Transformers who hates on all things Terminator for some reason) who claims to have watched it only to write a negative review, even though you haven't watched it at all. I've read at least three of these so far online. It's a weird thing, but true. The givaway is the Transformers reference and the fact that you don't provide any substance to your critique. It's quite pathetic actually.

Anyone who just dismisses a film because of McG qualifies for an automatic fail.

It's a summer tentpole. Hype is par for the course. Why does this surprise you?

This film looks better and better with every new piece I see. I agree that there may be TOO MUCH stuff coming out that will pretty much spoil the whole film. Otherwise, I'm really impressed with everything I've seen.
