I wondered if anyone else would bring up the way Letterman claimed to pattern himself after his mentor, the great Johnny Carson. How disappointed Carson would be in Letterman's failure to live up to his standard.
Carson would NEVER have resorted to the vulgarity that Letterman seems to wallow in, especially toward anyone who doesn't agree with him.
Carson knew to leave 'em wanting more, and he had the class to do so when he ended his run in 1992.
Letterman apparently never learned that lesson.
Give it up, Dave. You're no longer relevant. You're just mean.
