Well, they deff choose a place to keep the public awaiting the second part immensely. As for the readers, I think the split should have been whenever he saw the doe, and then when it seems like Harry drowns, it should end the movie. And, at the beginning of the second movie it's dark...and you hear a bunch of splashing as Ron pulls Harry out of the pond. I can just imagine it being an awfull success. But that's just me.
