WHY does he feel the need when he didn't in Libya? Closer to the midterms. Russia's making noise. Syria is Iran's ally.
WHY did he say he was still prepared to strike if Congress denies him the authority? To give him an "out" and the opportunity to blame the GOP before the midterms.
Is Obama "incompetent"? Nope. And only those who do not understand his goals think so. His policies are WORKING FOR HIM.

1. When an ambassador calls 911, Standing Orders are to initiate a rescue Op. NOTHING is required to SEND the op; and ONLY POTUS can issue a Stand-down order for this Rescue Op.
2. The laser designators used by the SEALs on the mortar pit ONLY WORK when in close-contact-communications with an on-station attack asset. The only assets that link to the laser designators are F/A18, AC-130 and armed drones. If nothing is on-station, the designators simply don't work.
3. Who owned all F/A18 in-theater at the time? Adm Gaouette; he was relieved within days. Who owns all AC-130 and armed drones in-theater? General Ham; he was relieved in days, as well.
So the facts seem to be that a rescue op was launched automatically, When advised that the op was underway, Obama cancelled it. Adm Gaouette and Gen'l Ham either argued against it, or simply their acting on Standing Orders (which Obama arguably would have known about if he ever showed up for his PDB) got them fired.
Issa must put both Gaouette and Ham on the stand or we WILL NOT understand what really happened.

Obama's glory days were the destruction of the economy, jobs and the future of America...
It's amazing that those most hurt by Obama's policies - minorites (Black unemployment highest EVER, Black youth unemployment highest EVER; total sustained unemployment highest EVER) and the youth (who now can't find a job thanks to their votes for him) still support the guy who has trashed their futures. Who said education was bad in America?

Here is Part III of The American Fighting Man's Code of Conduct:
"If I am captured, I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy."
And what kind of military leader would free enemy combatants, captured killing THEIR GUYS, to go out and KILL THEM AGAIN? I guess there is no longer any honor among our top commanders, or they'd quit rather than carry-out this order.
Is this even a legal order? If we put on trial our soldiers for accepting parole (and we have), is it legal to offer it to their enemy? Didn't we learn about just following any old order from Lt Calley and My Lai?
