When you give love, look at it as a gift you are giving. What the recipient chooses to do with it is up to them.
I find that it's always easier to give with no expectation of anything in return. I know that I gave the gift, and that's enough. If they're kind back, great. If not, perhaps they're just going through a tough time and need a little extra understanding that day. Either way, see if you can give without attachment.
Rather than allowing yourself to be drained, surround yourself with people who love and support you. If you find it isn't fun to be around someone, change your circumstances to be around people who are supportive. You do have a choice, so make choices that allow you to give while bringing joy into your own life.
I hope that helps!
Hugs,
Gail

I especially love the sneak peak of you at the end, just to prove that you were really there. :)
Love you,

I get what you mean about so much to do and so little time. We live in a fast-paced world that sometime feels like it never slows down.
Pope John Paul and Mother Teresa both took 4 hours each morning- just for themselves... to reconnect with God. Most of us say we don't have that kind of time, but yet these two very busy, very productive people got a lot done, in their own way- BECAUSE they took the time.
When we take the time to reconnect with who we really are, we find that things happen with grace and ease and we actually have more time to spare. I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but I've found that taking the time to connect actually puts more available time in my time "bank account". I hope you find that it works that way for you too.
Thank you for taking the time to read the post and for sharing your comments.
Hugs,
Gail

Thanks for your comments. I had to smile when I read the part of your comments about finding yourself on the ledge without the courage to jump.... We've all been there. Funny thing is, if we don't jump, most often God finds a way to gently push us off.... and that's when we feel silly, realizing that we had wings all along! If you've never tried bungee jumping, I highly recommend it. Talk about learning the power of jumping.... WOW!
Thanks again Winston!

Your comment touched my heart- thank you. I originally wrote this piece as a reminder to myself of what is possible. Funny how what works for one of us usually works for many of us. :) Again, it's not important that we sometimes forget how magnificent we are.... but it is most important how quickly we remember.
Thanks again for your comments.

I'm grateful that these words found you at the right time. If you've never done this exercise, I would invite you to write your own 500 words of "wisdom". What would you want to pass on to others that you love? What have you learned that matters?
I find that it is these words that I wrote, that help me personally when life sends "one of those days"... as we all get from time to time.
It's a great introspective exercise that will have great meaning for you.
Thanks again for your kind comments.
All the best,
Gail
