Great feedback. I am not sure I see what a "root cause" of a risk is - I assume you mean that there is a risk and then you can review the aspects that make the risk exist. I can completely understand a root cause analysis of an issue - which to me is an event that has occurred and you need to analyse. But essentially if you understand your risks and why they exist (ie. an online business has a risk of external fraud due to phishing) then you should reduce your issues and maybe even eliminate them. You will however never eliminate all risks. I guess you can look at the root cause of external fraud however I think the value is looking at the controls you can place to manage this risk. The issue, as an example, would be "the same online business has just experienced a phishing attack". Am I making sense?
This is a good factor to consider. It may be a little difficult to quantify though so perhaps a way of looking at it is detailing all the possibilities a customer may use your service/product and then flagging customers based on the quantity of the reasons they will take up.

Hi. Yes I use Wordpress for this site. Started off using Wordpress.com then progressed to a hosted Wordpress site. If you go with later then an understanding of domains helps but is not mandatory. Wphosting.com.au offers a great service for great value and also can help you when you get stuck. I also use iThemes service which provides brilliant themes. Using this, with the massive amount of widgets, also means no coding is required.
Very interesting post from our guest blogger. The analogy between a sous chef and a risk manager is unique but does provide a view that not only focuses on the people aspect but also the importance of effective communication.

Hi. Thanks for the comment. Personally I believe the economic crisis still has a way to go, particularly here in Australia. We have not seen the same negative economic conditions and in actual fact housing prices have increased over the last 12 months. However, the level of debt in this country and the inflated housing prices concerns me greatly and I suspect a housing bubble here may burst. Overseas, I suspect a slight improvement overseas but it will take a number of years for the world to get back to some form of normality. Cheers.
