The public displays of "affection" would get just about anyone else tossed in jail with a charge of indecency. Our military is being brought down one rung at a time. The big roadblock to ever reconciling our race issues lays with the PC attitude of some and the outright hypocrisy of others who decry the use of the n-word while excusing it being used by black people. The fact that it is a vile word and when used to denigrate someone or a group, the user definitely has an issue. But if we can not discuss, in a no-nonsense, adult way, the underlying issues with many of our race problems by being frank about what we see,,,then we will not fully come together as a people,,,without any regard to race or culture.
we are going in exactly the opposite direction that we need to be going in. only when someone is able to express a controversial word, statement, or idea are we going to be able to find out what triggers that statement or idea if we can engage in a factual, no-pressure dialogue. usually,,,the hatred is generated by someone who is ignorant of much of what is good and has been exposed to a very negative atmosphere.
if anyone doesn't believe these actions aren't tied to the last visit by medveyev, the arresting of the spy ring and the subsequent swap, then you are missing how much respect the russians have for obama. russians will always make decisions on her best interest, naturally, and that includes manipulating the political scene with regards to iran to garner more concessions from a visibly weak u.s. leader.
so instead of a robust "america will lead the way and help energize the worlds economy",,,,,we have "it would be unfair if america was ahead of everyone else so i will level the playing field". liberals love leveling the playing field,,,,that's why our schools go no faster than the slowest student.
