Blame the American people. Could a thoughtful and educated person who acknowledges the complexities of reality and is willing to articulate the complexity of the solutions needed, ever be elected to the Presidency when this nation is full of short-sighted and unintelligent people who are moved by theatrics and not intelligence?

Obama's still better than anything the Republicans have to offer.

Funny how everyone's saying "Juan's a stand up guy". He's been working for NPR for years, and now that he's fired he suddenly believes they should lose public funding. He's hosted today's O'Reilly show and made the entire show a stage for him to whine about being fired. I know it sucks to lose your job, but in the big scheme of things his firing is really the least significant thing going on in the country.

NPR receives 1% of its funding from public sources, 99% from private ones. As such NPR is entitled to establish its own basis on whom it employs and why it fires them. It's not Fox's place to whine about NPR's biases any more than it would be for CNN to investigate the structure of Fox News and show how it's essentially the propaganda wing of the Republican Party.

As for Juan's comment, I'd just like to point out that as a Muslim, I feel nervous every time I see a black man walk on my block wearing black urban garb. By Juan's reasoning (he was supporting O'Reilly's anti-mosque views on "The View" all black men should refrain from living in or visiting my neighborhood out of sensitivity towards my feelings. As a statistical fact, there are more black rapists, murderers and burglars than there are Muslim terrorists in America, and they commit crimes every day. I have more to fear from someone who looks like Juan than Juan has to fear from someone who looks like me.

When a bigot like Pamela Geller becomes so outrageous and loony that she can't even peddle her nonsense on a Fox network without being challenged for her insanity, then you know it's time for her to find another hobby. She's a hateful lonely old loon who derives all meaning in life from her hate activism. Unfortunately for her, history isn't on her side - movements like hers eventually get exposed for what they are and she'll only be remembered, if remembered at all, as a hate merchant who was trampled on by those who truly stood for freedom. She's like the petty villain that makes the heroes look good. Cheers for Imam Rauf, CAIR, and all those taking a stand on Muslims' rights.

Pamela Geller is your friend?

Here is Geller's take on Muslims:

"...it’s the Muslims who are dragging the rest of the world with them, in their genocidal dreams of annihilating goodness, creativity, production, inventiveness, benevolence, charity, medicine, technology, and all of the gifts of the Jews. Our goodness makes them ill." - Pamela Geller

The main speaker at her anti-mosque rally on 9-11 was Geert Wilder. His claim to fame is his support of banning Muslim immigration, urging existing Muslim populations to leave through payment to relocate, banning the Quran, and taxing women 1000 euros a year for wearing Muslim clothing. She's attacked a CHILD and accused him of being a "stealth jihadi" for asking for a bit of space to pray in at her school. She's condemned restaurants serving halaal food, she's condemned private banks offering Islamic loans. Essentially, she's done everything she can to make America inhospitable to Muslims. Her supporters on her blog go further and urge outright violence against Muslims at their mosques and homes. She moderates that blog and erases all responses from Muslim visitors, including myself, but retains those calls for murdering Muslims.

Your friend, is essentially a Nazi. Different demographic as a target, but her tactics of libel and urging hatred are the same as those adopted by the Nazis in the 40s.

And when Beckel said 'you're a woman', what he obviously meant was that if Geller was a man, he'd be slugged. Beckel knows what Geller stands for, what she believes in and the list of lies she's peddled to provoke it. He's the "righteous" one here.

When Bob Beckel said "you're a woman", what he's saying is if you were a man, he'd slug you. To accuse him of "carrying water" for anyone because he simply disagrees with you is an extremely stupid and offensive conclusion to draw. Bob was RIGHT.

As for getting over 9-11, Republicans have milked the fear caused by 9-11 for all its worth. And it's costing us. While I wouldn't say "forget 9-11", we do need to put it in perspective and not cite it as justification of things that are otherwise unjustifiable, like the bigotry against Muslims that Pamela Geller supports.

As for Geller claiming the left engages in 'personal destruction", coming from Geller that's a LAUGH. She's the one who accuses Obama of being an anti-semite and a pimp. She's attacked the wife of Imam Rauf calling her names on her blog. She's accused EVERY Muslim group of being a "front" for Hamas. Such intellectual dishonesty is unheared of. And she's gone so far in the crazy hate monger direction that she can't even get a free pass on a Fox network anymore.

And God doesn't exist, btw.

Pamela Geller should count her blessings.

The main speaker, Geert Wilder's only claim to fame is being condemned as a bigot and a racist in the Netherlands. He supports banning the immigration of Muslims, taxing Muslim women 1000 euros a year for wearing Muslim clothing, and urging the existing Muslim population of the Netherlands to leave by bribing them to relocate.

Another one of her guests is a soldier whose claim to fame is that he was accused of murdering Iraqi insurgent captives in cold blood. The case against him didn't go through for lack of evidence, but it's the allegation of killing these captives that makes him stand out amongst the many veterans of this war, and the only reason he's been invited by SIOA to speak.

Pamela Geller and her hate group are essentially the Diet Coke version of the Nazi party. Just different choice of victim and hate rhetoric that has been tactfully toned down so as not to set off any alarms. It's a pity the media hasn't given her the through coverage of her opinions and this hate gathering she deserves.
