In a way, this is a sign of hope. As long as Blacks tie themselves to the Democratic Party in exchange for nothing more than a Martin Luther King Holiday here and there, the Democrats will continue to favor the unions who get them elected at the expense of Blacks (who just vote for them). Just two examples: (1) raising the minimum wage to aid unions without regard to the generation of young Blacks, especially Black males, they are condemning to unemployment. (2) selling out to the teachers' unions by refusing to support alternatives to the current public school monopoly, condemning those same young Blacks, male and female, to a lifetime built on a disadvantaged education.
