the pictures of the trailer tell a lot. the state of michigan lets you wander into the dmv with a list of things you used to MAKE the trailer, then they actually give you a title and a plate for it without EVER inspecting it. as tragic and horrible as this incident is, im actually suprised it doesnt hapen more often. i see trailers on the road that i wouldnt feel safe pulling around my lawn!

to say that these dogs only belong to renecks, drug dealers, dog fighters, gansters, ect. is such a beligerant stereotype that it makes me sick. it sucks this "attack" happened and the pup got killed. but keep in mind, WOODTV SUCKS at reporting anything. they said the girl recieved a puncture wound, not was bitten. that could have happened when she fell in the ditch. also, the owner has an underground fence. there was no mention of where the girl was walking the dog was there? could she have been inside his lawn and inside the underground fence? im not defending the actions of the dogs. the actions were pretty extreme. but there are other parts to the story that might not have been reported on. WOODTV loves to make reports more dramatic and "newsworthy." in my opinion, woodtv should practice more responsible and unbiased reporting. and for gods sake get the weather right once in a while.

good luck getting a fair shake here in west michigan and having "pit bulls." i have three american stafforshire terriers, (which falls into the huge grouping of pit bull breeds). the dogs get a ton of bad press. compound that with general ignorance and some of the idiots who raise them and the general public basically becomes prejudice against a whole group of dogs. continued below.....

i used to bartend in grandville, i know scott and served him numerous times. ive personally tossed him out half a dozen times for being way to drunk or doing stupid things. he has tried to come into the bar intoxicated on several occasions. him drinking and driving is not an isolated incident, and you know he is a liar whe he said he only had a 2 beers and 2 shots. you need a lot more booze than that to blow a .15 bac. also, blacking out(not remembering driving) is not an excuse for getting behind the wheel. im not a psychic so i cant say "i saw this one coming" but i am suprised that this sort of thing doesnt happen more often. there are thousands of people driving over the leagal limit every single night. i also think that this particular case has gotten way too much attention for him get off easily.

id rather be chained up outside than dead at the humane society. im not an advocate for chaining up dogs by any means though. i have 2 outdoog dogs and 1 indoor. the 2 outdoor dogs have a huge fenced in area(not chaiined up) they have a doggydoor to get into the barn, there is a sunny spot and a shaded area. the area that they can get into the barn is heated and there is a leather couch in there for them too ( not to mention hay on the floor) yet the humane society will still deny me an adoption bc the dogs are considered outdoor dogs. we have tried to adopt a ton of time, 6 dogs that i know of, that we tried to adopt, have been put to sleep instead of being adopted out to someone(or myself).

whats better? having the dog put to sleep or living outside? id rather live outside than be dead, in my opinion, but places like harbor humane doesnt see it like that. if the dog has a possiblity to live outside, harbor humane would rather keep it and put it to sleep rather than adopt it out to you!! i think the humane societies and shelters should spay and neuter the animals and let the animals be adopted out to people who want them, granted they can afford them and be responsible, not fighting them, ect.... but the standards the humane societies hold potential adopters is ridiculous.

whats worse though? the living condition or harbor humane killing the animals when they are not adopted?
harbor humane would rather have keep an animal and put it to sleep rather than adopt an animal out. the adoption criteria is way to strict there and they are very quick to deny a potential adopter.
