The visceral hatred of unions here is something else. One can only wonder if it is envy? That being said, this deal was done years ago - Boeing had no intention of placing a second line here. They are after cheap wages - if not, why not build the 787 in MacDac's old facilities in SoCal? You have a large, trained labor pool, excellent infrastructure and supply net.

I am amazed that no passenger took any initiative at all - are we now a nation of sheep? As a private pilot myself, I am shamed the PIC did nothing here to alleviate the hardship of her charge.

actually it does; it prevents fiscal anarchy. Unfettered capitalism has a dismal trak record; think 1887 Panic, Great Depression, 1980's S&L debacle and our current recession. Who bailed us out?
