LOL....it is true you should wait a few days before panicking about feed count when you transition your feeds to Google. Everything appears to be working now. Total site feed count has decreased but category feeds are increasing nicely. Time to figure out a way (other than ugly chicklet) to incorporate those counts on category pages.

Good grief...feed count above was fine this morning...come back this afternoon and it showing zero?!? ..maybe it's time to look for an alternative to Feedburner. This tranisition to google is clearly not going smoothly.

It turns out my feed issue was related to the HTAccess setup recommended by Perishable Press. Google doesn't like it. So I've eliminated it for now and will continue research on how to redirect those feeds. I can at least now start incorporating some manual links on the category pages in a more prominent spot....but sure wish I could auto redirect the wordpress feeds...saga continues.

I think I've finally gotten the count of my main feed to work correctly. It entailed updating my theme to include the new feed link. Although it's suppposed to redirect all the info, suffice it to say, the stats were irratic at best.

I'm still wrestling with the individual category feeds though. I'm getting lots of timeout errors when I try to add features to the feed.....arrgh. At this rate it might be awhile before I incorporate the feed subscriptions into my category pages.

I'm spending way too much time on this. Think I'll go quilt for awhile.

Thanks, Mike. I would love to have Lorraine join your site as she would certainly love the group. It would be so much easier if we lived in the same town. She's not real fond of computers and doesn't have a digital camera. She's done quite a few quilts since this one and I'm sure they are all gorgeous.

I did use the sausage and 2 small cans of green chilies. Instead of B&M beans, I used Bush's bold and saucy (more of a southwestern flavor). I did not use the El Pato sauce as the sausage gave the chili just enough zip. It makes a huge batch which I freeze.

This would be a great plug-in if it would work consistently. Sometimes it updates and sometimes it doesn't. Very frustrating to have to verify each time and manually update when it doesn't.

I made the command decision to uninstall this plug-in this morning. I'm running into memory errors so this one is being sacrificed.

I love this plug-in but have discovered that too many rss feeds in sidebars results in out of memory errors. Back to the drawing board. I'm still using the plug-in for my the Featured Recipes" in the "Dining In section"

Okay...fixed it. Switched category to "uncategorized" and eliminated "uncategorized" from my navigation menu. Not sure if I'll keep it...thought I might use it for off topic comments I don't care to categorize.
