Nice work AV. I could handle a Castillo/Murphy platoon until the youngster comes into his own. I *hope* Castillo is a contributor for this ballclub, however I'm not holding my breath.

Minaya is doing exactly what he should have done last year...gut the 'pen of every headache and then some. I wouldn't be shocked if there is more movement before year's end. He wants to make a statement, and so far so good. Schoeneweis was never any good...and should have never been on the Mets after 2007's collapse. Feliciano's next...

Hudson would be a great addition, but he has been injured at times...if the Mets could dump Castillo's salary and acquire O-Dog, they would be solid in that infield.

Heilman's problems were toxic. You get rid of him, and the rest of the dead weight, and this bullpen is instantly better. Joe Smith has definitely earned himself a spot next year. Stokes and Feliciano are maybe, and Sanchez is likely. Kunz should be given a shot to close, even if the Mets find a solid closer in the offseason. Better to have two closers than one at this point.
