Some of these Academy schools will also be faith schools. Most people don't want a certain faith forced on their children... In South Bucks we've had an academy faith school forced onto the community. It wasn't wanted or needed. It should hold 840 children and has less than 100 at the moment. It has a poor Ofsted rating.
How can any Tory support policy like this. It's a total mess.

Very interesting Adrian. _As a member of Beaconsfield Conservative's, I've never understood why we don't support Slough, or indeed other bordering Associations !_In fact we don't appear to do anything with them !_To facilitate federations we need effective communication. I see very little evidence of this happening !__

At the last Executive committee meeting, I would say the average age of members was in there sixties ! Maybe older ! How is federations going to help this ?
I've just had an invitation to a selection process for our Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner. It's 45 miles away in Didcot! A 90 miles round trip for Beaconsfield members. You have to be present to vote.
Who wants to do a 90 mile round trip for their right to vote ? How many members are going to bother to do this ridiculous journey ? The point I make is having a bigger area can create problems of a different type ! Philip Dumville advises there are 22 Associations in our Thames Valley area alone.
But I think your absolutely correct that chemistry of leading actors is vital ! Good communication with a neighbouring Associations needs to come first, and I just don't think that's happening !!

Free Schools only work if they are not forced onto communities like the Khalsa School in Stoke Poges.
This school was placed in South Bucks even though the application was for Slough Berkshire children.
Eric Pickles has just withdrawn from a court case with the local Conservative Council.
This school was placed in Stoke Poges going against the county, District and Parish Councils.
No one from central office want to talk to us about this mess.!!
This is happening in South Bucks which has the 2nd biggest Conservative Association and MP being Dominic Grieve.
So be cautious of free Schools !!!

Cameron is going to need all the help he can get. Conservatives are very much fragmented in their views at the moment, due to going away from the usual Tory value's, and the arrogant attitude of ignoring local Conservatives! We've experienced it first hand in South Buckinghamshire, where the local Conservative controlled council has voted to go to court regarding terrible government decisions !

He should look nearer to home ! You can't get more corrupt than the dfe inappropriately locating the Khalsa faith school in Stoke Poges village. The school's application was for Slough Berkshire children. This school was then located in Stoke poges without any input from the local community. The community and all it's councillors at all levels were excluded. The decision Eric Pickles made that this school can stay is now being challenged by the local community, including local Conservatives !
This corruption has created Conservatives against Conservatives !
You can follow all the documented evidence on the Stoke Poges Parish Council website. Read it all and you will be shocked and horrified.
