My oldest brother served in WW2 from Normandy thru the Bulge. He saw American GIs misbehave more badly than the Jerries (the word Nazi wasn't in use yet). Anyone who wants to know why WW2 was really fought, google Former Sec of State James Baker's interview in Der Spiegel, 1992.
