I believe that it is the government assuming the role of parent that is the issue here since we are dealing now with minors.
I think that much of the discussion of these posts, while valid, are missing the point. This is just another example of our government overstepping the power given to it by the constitution. This needs to stop!
This is a sad day when when our elected officials go against the will of the people and meddle in things they know nothing about and dare I say, competely abuse the trust and power given to them. The GM issue is an unfolding soap opera of things going wrong. We give the company money we don't have only to delay a likely bankruptcy and now we are going to have a shutdown that will likely further hurt the company and many of it's suppliers. During this shut down we are still paying the workers, like a paid vacation. That'sonly a good deal for the union workers...that is while it lasts. What happens if the compny goes under? Will we still be paying the workers? My bet is that yes we will, with money that again we don't have, but then how can the company go under since it is now basically owned by the government? I am seeing an unending drama unfolding.
We the people must wake up and take action and get involved in taking back our country. Seek and promote candidates that share the 912 values.
This tax is a complete outrage! Who are they going after next while the constitution is buried further underground? If we play the same game we should demand a list of Congressmen who accepted campaign "donations" from AIG and then demand that they be subject to the same 90% tax.
I do believe that the emails to our Congressmen are a good idea. Evenif they now fall on deaf ears, as the numbers grow they will have to listen.
I agree that just complaining will do no good. I have never been a fan of a march on Washington though as I have always viewed those that do things like that as having too much time on their hands. We need new leaders! My solemn fear is that a candidate that would actually be qualified and have the guts to do the right thing would never get through the political machine as it has been created. Another fear is that as a nation we are still too apathetic! This is where we must come in. We must sound the alarm and get involved! Maybe it is too late...but I'm ready to go down sounding the alarm rather than doing nothing at all.
