Obama...Clinton...McCain...It really makes no difference. They are all beholden to large corporations, by whom their campaigns are funded. That's why they are where they are today--because Big Business and special interests put them there.

And it's why other viable candidates--people who stand for real change--like Nader does(and Kucinich would have), have not been allowed into the debates--because they are a threat to the control the Fat Cats have over our system: Big Business doesn't want you to hear what Nader has to say because they know you will vote for him when you do. And they know they can't control people like Nader. If they lose control of our system, they stand to lose lots of power and lots more money. And they don't like that, not one little bit.

Until Americans start really participating--voting their consciences instead of worrying about who they're giving away their vote to if they do--and really taking back what belongs to us to begin with, it will be this same business as usual, and our country will continue the death spiral that it is in.

Ralph Nader is an intelligent man who has the ability to see the big picture, unlike many of us. If he is perceived to "dismiss" the internet medium, he has a good and well-thought out reason for it. I don't believe he really does dismiss it, however. One thing he has stood for (and continues to stand for) is integrity and responsibility of everyone, citizens and public servants alike, because that is the only real way that a democracy can be a success.

Most average citizens are not used to this mindset. We like to target politicians and point out how irresponsibly and dishonestly they behave. But this is a system which breeds this type of behavior in everyone, from politicians on down the line to the bottom rung.

That, I believe, is what Ralph wants to change. He recognizes that our system is broken, but in his heart he is a true believer in it. Instead of just bitching and moaning about how bad and rotten things are like most of the rest of us, he wants to fix it. I agree with that. I believe he's very sincere about this.

After all, he has spent years proving that we can fight (and change) the system, and that's why I support him.

I started my career when computers were more or less just toys, and now we can't seem to do anything without them, both at work and in private life. Computers are inarguably a great asset for many reasons, but the net result for me personally is that the extra time that has been gained through use of computers has resulted in a commensurate increase in the workload. I can get more work done with a computer, so now my workload is bigger. Big deal.
