What I've listened to so far of this is good - and I am not a huge Fucked Up fan - but a 10/10? I am not even close to there yet.

I was disappointed with this, especially with all of the hype behind it. There are some great moments on it, but overall it lacks originality.

I still haven't given this a full listen. There is a lot of hype surrounding these guys and I was kind of figuring it was for the reasons you listed. Great review.

So I just got back from this. First half hour: pretty great. Rest of movie: horrendous.

Chris Hemsworth is sexy though.

I know this review isn't about Kanye, but Graduation is where Kanye found his sound? Of the first three, Graduation is by far the weakest. Late Registration and College Dropout are both 10/10 hip hop records.

With that, I'm not buying in to Tyler and Odd Future.

Pretty stoked to see this. I am somewhat surprised you gave it that high of a rating, but I assume it is partly justified ;)

It is hard for me to explain why I like this more than Colors. All I can really say is that I feel like this EP "matters". I don't think it is nearly as "prog for the sake of being prog" as Colors, and it helps that each song on the EP is distinct.

It feels, at times, like a realized TGM. TGM had moments of brilliance that were overshadowed - Swim to the Moon being the best example; awesome riffs, but no cohesiveness at all. This, on the other hand, has all of the killer riffs with actual cohesiveness and transitions.

I don't know if that made any sense. Regardless, it is nice to be excited about a new BTBAM release.
