I think someone should acquaint Sam Allardyce with the definition of madness:
"Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result".

Bit off topic but...I was ill over the week-end so watched a lot of games on the telly. I've been concerned this season with the very non-PL looking capability of our squad (although completely agreeing with those who point out we need to concentrate on getting up first). However on the evidence of the week-end, our team would have outplayed Arsenal, given Liverpool a good run, probably held Spurs and walked all over Wolves. COYI!!!

Well done Iain for your persistence in getting through to him. Splendid job. I've never been a fan of this administration so that makes the prospect of reading your interview all the more intriguing. I'm sure I speak for us all here when I say I can hardly wait! Good luck with transcribing it all!

Off topic but you are so right about Upson. I see that not only has he failed to get in to the Stoke first team, there was a rumour I saw somewhere that he was being shipped abroad.

Not sure berating your players in public is a good idea but most things Sam gets up to seem to be considered so I guess there must be some method in it. Agreed we have a great opportunity this afternoon with the Saints slipping up last night but we have to watch our backs. Boro are right behind us and have an easier game than us against Peterborough today. I think dropping below the automoaic promotion slots with a squad down to its bare bones (sorry 'Arry) with injuries and suspensions would be a real psycological blow to us right now.

The Daily Mail? Why are we even bothering to respond?

All the recent messages that have emerged pre-season seem to suggest Sam has re-generated some squad morale - which is great news when we are looking to attract players..
I agree with the comments above that, for one reason or another, the likes of QPR, Norwich, Wolves, Wigan and Newcastle (and I would add Blackburn) don't seem to be more attractive than WHU at the moment as far as career moves go so let's hope we can attract the best available which to my mind, rules out both Carew and Johnson. Ngog might be worth a punt but is he better than Nouble?
Off topic but...isn't it great to have silence from the likes of Sullivan and Brady. Let's hope they keep their opinions to themselves for the next nine months.

Agreed - I'd add Blacburn to the potential drop list too. Can't see them having a season of sweetness and light...
