How come one loudmouth baboon insists on a configuration that never really worked at all over the course of maybe six weeks, and everybody in Boulder who actually knew how to ride a bike in traffic clearly said this was a complete waste of money from the get-go?

Gainesville mayor describes how poorly thought out Dom's "right sizing" jihad was down there and why they were all abandoned by the beginning of last year.

(The picture was so embarrassing that the Camera had yanked it from the previous article by mid morning.)
And if you actually think that Dom and Zane will ever be productive adults, then you must also think that this pathetic ill-prepared species will be around in January too!

(Of course they still expect you to pay full retail, goes without saying...)

None of their salaried shills ever even tried to dispute that equation? Even though ten minutes earlier they were sure and certain that the company only sold one car a month and that nobody would miss them at all.
The real problem with getting paid to fail all your life Zane and Dom is that you still FAIL.

Two hands on the handlebars and a working front brake is worth considering too? Except in Zane and Dom's publicly funded fantasy world anyway! Captain Bollard is there to "protect" them, right?
No wonder they deleted that picture so quickly this morning?

For what it's worth the Colorado Daily iteration only has one picture.
Enabling people who had no use for a front brake in traffic and even worse than that a second arm to steer with was quite clearly the whole Mission Statement from day one here. Why back off now? You know I've always found a front brake to be pretty useful when you have a stoplight every 200 yards myself??
Did Zane and Dom ever even realize that this just might result in a bit of a serious liability issue for the City going forward?

(An arrangement that's pretty consistent with almost everyone who had ever promoted this "experiment.")

At the outset when they still thought they could steal Iris and 63rd there certainly seemed to be $300K available for the whole combination plate?
In case anyone is the least bit confused there is Federal Money behind this initiative and their stated goal (which they themselves admit is ridiculous in the next breath,) is to magically divert 30 percent of all traffic to bicycles.
Fortunately we have been dealing with delusional evangelists just like this in Boulder ever since I got here 34 years ago. The network of surface streets here was already optimized for all users way beyond their capability to comprehend, even if they had actually bothered to try.

In my opinion saving the Muni with that $15 Mil in sunk costs so far and an election coming up is EXACTLY why they are backing off on the wrong sizing debacle right now. Just three weeks ago they were telling everyone to sit there and take it.
