Sounds cool. I am still hoping that they come out with a car dock. I love the Droid car dock and having one for the Nexus One would be perfect.

This is another example of where Google may not have thought out this whole thing enough. Maybe this whole selling of phones direct is like all the other Google products (beta for a looooong time). Don't get me wrong I love the Google products but when you are trying to target the average consumer you need to keep things simple.

It would be good for Google to put our some sort of statement letting people know exactly where to get support. I think that this will stop them from selling these to the average user. Most users want to just go back to their provider to get anything that they need. If you go to TMo with this phone you will most likely get sales people wanting to play with the device and less help than people need / want.

Android seems to be poised to get some great games like those found on the iPhone / iPod currently. Now all Google needs to do is attract the big name developers. At CES Palm was showing off some pretty decent titles from EA. Let's hope that EA shows Android some love soon.

If this phone comes in at a low end price point I would guess that users looking in that range of phones may not even know that there are different versions. Your average user who walks into the store looking for a phone would not know the difference between 1.5, 1.6 or even 2.0. People who read this site I would expect are looking at the higher end devices and thus wanting to get the latest (or at least that an upgrade path to) Android OS out there.

I think the common sense would be the way to go for an open source product but consumers will do stupid things at times. It might be good to have a secondary store or maybe a certified section that are apps that the developer has paid Google to review. This way it is not everyone that needs to go thru this process and Google gets paid for their time to certify that it is not malicious.

I myself certainly look at some apps that access everything and wonder why do they need that. If it is a well knows developer I am not too worried but the access review that the store shows you certainly has me not installing a few strange apps.

I wish there was a solution like Joikuspot on the S60 platform. Being able to turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot is very handy. I would think that is this is possible someone would be working on it in the Android community.

That is a nice number for Google considering that there is no store front for consumers to go and give one a spin. I wonder what they could do if they had kiosks where the potential customers could get their hands on the device.

This new feature is pretty cool in concept but after taking an image my Droid now locks up. This certainly makes the time till I can shoot again quite a bit longer. I am hoping that the Nexus One does a little better with this.

I would expect that Google would like everyone to just forget all about this pinch and zoom function. I am sure they should know by now that this is going to get asked each time they get in front of the bloggers and press.. mostly the bloggers but clearly do not ever seem prepared with some answer to this question.

As Apple and Google seem to be moving further and further apart as "friends" it might be something that Google is waiting in the wings to do battle over. For now they might just want to bide their time and keep one less thing for Apple to get anoyed with.
