The best way to defeat Sharia is to advocate its adoption.
............................

Not sure about that--I think that might be wishful thinking.

There have been many people advocating the adoption of Shari'ah in Somalia, and Iran, and Saudi Arabia, and Yemen, and a few other Islamic garden spots--in general, living in these places is hell on earth.

This is in reference to the story, "Islamic 'Education Is Sin' group returns, declares total jihad".

"The bombing will not stop until Sharia and Western Civilisation is wiped off from Nigeria. We will not stop until these evil cities are tuned into ashes.

Obviously they mean to say, "The bombing will not stop until Sharia is imposed and Western Civilisation is wiped off from Nigeria."
................................

Well, yes--but this is the sort of thing that is lost when you consider education to be a "sin".

The comments section just went from 29 pages to 43 pages to *59* pages--then abruptly dropped back to 43 pages. I would love to comment on the dreadful story above, but my attempts to find the section in the unwieldly comments stream with posts about this story have been completely unsuccessful so far.

I feel terrible--I think I have spent more time in the past day or two cursing the JW comments system than I have violent Jihadists. Deep breath--priorities, priorities...

By the way, anybody who has responded to any of my comments lately will likely not get a response from me, due to the fact that Jihad Watch comments are a heap of smoking ruins...
..............................

I know what you mean, Hesperado. I usually respond to comments on my posts, if it seems appropriate--especially if there are questions or if something needs to be clarified--but in several cases, I have not been able to find the roving thread of comments.

Not rudeness, I assure you--just another side effect of the IntenseDebate debacle. I'm sure a lot of people are having this problem right now.

By the way, I usually find a comment of mine has received a response because I have been notified by email. This has also broken down recently, and I have been getting emails of responses that have nothing to do with anything I have posted--usually they seem to be from a thread where I have posted something, but I'm not sure that even this is always the case.

I haven't been able to just delete all these emails, since some of them really are responses to my comments. Still, I may have to start doing that, out of shear self-preservation. When the problem first began, I might have gotten ten or twelve emails a day--annoying, but manageable. Well, yesterday I found my inbox clogged with *over 80 responses*. Just madness.

Godspeed to Robert on finding another system.

I believe AM is confusing the actions of Christians concerned with a frightened child with the common Muslim practice of kidnapping non-Muslim girls and forcibly converting them to Islam, often through rape and threats to their families.

It isn't surprising, perhaps, that he would make this sort of mistake, given his understanding of the practices of the "religion of peace".

Unless, of course, he realizes that the charge is totally spurious, and just wants to put posters here at JW on the defensive. Surely, that couldn't be his intent? sarc/off

Rotterdam is not in Switzerland. Tariq Ramadan is nominally "Swiss", but the Rotterdam city council is not. A small point, perhaps, but indicative of the quality of the post.

Don't feel bad that you didn't know at the time. Very few of us, in the West, understood how evil Islam was twenty years ago. I was concerned about plane hijackings and "violence in the Middle East", but beyond that, I had no clue.

I hope you can eventually find out what happened to her, but many, many Muslim girls (secret Christian converts or not) disappear after being married off to some old man--often a cousin--back in the old country.

I'm sure many of these poor girls must look back on their childhoods in the West as a kind of golden age.

Same old shit indeed.

"Hundreds of millions of Muslims the world over are not seeking to wage war against the United States, or other non--Muslim states"--but they might do just that, at any moment, if we are not deferential enough. Funny how easy it must be to accidently make "all those who practice Islam into our enemies"--I wonder why that is?

Clearly, Traeh, these are forgeries by the Jews and Christians, created to sow confusion about the Holy Qur'an among all those who are not "rightly guided". How nefarious the Jews and Christians are! sarc/off

Reacher, Robert Spencer has posted an article--a day or two ago--that says that while he has been very busy on a speaking tour and with his latest book, that he is aware of the problem and that JW is looking for a new system.

That being said, I certainly share your frustration.
