this proves that regulations are always passed on to the consumer. Obama cannot deny this. the corporations themselves never pay for increased taxes or fees required by govt regulation. the middle and lower class always have to eat it. any politician thinking that they are going to get the profits of a company is delusional. obama simply cannot deny the effects of his regulation and policy is making everything more expensive in the short term, with no garantee of avoiding an economic iceberg in the future. there will always be a calamity in the future, it's just a matter of how it plays out, hoping you don't get caught in it. that is the only certainty we can have.
if i bail out now, i lose out on all the money i invested to buy the thing. that loss is as bad as waiting it out... so i might as well wait it out. problem is i no longer have excess income to buy the extra stuff i used to, due to a downturn in the economy. i used to eat out a lot, buy stuff i didn't need from stores, local and national, stuff you need to stimulate the economy... my only extra expense now is netflix... i want to buy stuff, i just can't, esp with my tax hits next year. i am in WTF Obama? mode right now...
it sucks that they bail out only those that are in too deep to help out. if they pay off the mortages of fannie and freddie, giving them basically free houses, and then take away my mortage deduction and do nothing to help me at least refi to a current rate, well, i'm done with the democrat party. I can only take so much.
the thing i don't get is i am no more risk to faulting on the loan than when i took it out. and if they refied it so my payment was 200 bucks lower, that only helps improve my odds i will not default. i don't get it...
I have a house i bought for 450k, it's worth 280k now (if i am lucky) I put down 20% so i have a loan for 360k. I have a job, and i can afford the payments, but it is a variable interest loan. i called to see about a refi at these "historic rates", to get into a fixed 30 year loan, but they won't do it, because i am underwater. i'm not asking for them to revalue the house, let me pay off the loan at the overvalued price, i agreed to that price, i will pay it, just get me into these lower rates, and have it fixed, so i save like 200 a month. they will not do it because of the risk. i tell the guy, but you already have the risk, i'm already in a loan with you guys for that amount, i just want the better rates. the only way i can refi is if i get it out from underwater... This really irritates me. that 200 bucks could go to me seeing movies and going to restaurants which would help stimulate the economy...
all you obama haters need to grow up. it's not his fault this happened, but he can prevent future ones. repair the deregulation of bush and then after some reviews, we can get back to drilling. obama just wants to put it on hold while we check everything, make it safe and up to code since bush let it go to crap. democrats are constantly cleaning up after republicans...

deregulation by the Bush administration is why the BP spill happened. BP was just going with the cheapest route the law allowed, in the true capatlist way you dittoheads love. I am upset at Obama for not putting those regulations back fast enough, but Bush never should have deregulated in the first place. Why Rahm Emanual doesn't state this obvious truth saddens me, but he speaks the truth, it will be disaster if the conservatives regain power. now is not the time to be kind to the republicans when they are obiously crazy with hatred for the democrats (who are fixing everything Bush messed up, just not fast enough). I think it will be the G.O.P. that is surprised in Nov. not Obama, as most people do understand what the problem is, and that is republicans.
