The Internet. Never before has so much potential been realized through the creation of lolcatz.

Happy Birthday Mr. Brennan! What would you prefer: A UD-powered Corvair, or a Corvair-engined UD? The Atomic Toasters crew would probably build* your choice, provided they could lay off the scotch long enough.

*by "build" I of course mean "assemble an arrangement of edited pixels"

Disinfection starts a little higher.

Probably an 87 or 88 Thunderbird (possibly 85-86 as well, if they started using that logo then).

You're right. And thus, "potentially requiring a helmet" now makes even more sense.

Libation and inhalation provides motivation, for Citation amputation and Triation transformation, and appreciation / condemnation disputation consternation.

I would so be all over that if it were closer and I had the scratch. Love everything about it. I know that doesn't help per se, but maybe it counts as a moral victory? Though I do worry how much more it the rust would progress given its theoretical relocation to the midwest. Since it would be a daily driver and all. Theoretically.

I fully appreciate and endorse the sentiments and choices made for the buildup, but $30K seems way too high - even if those are OG / OEM vintage parts.

Love the battleship gray and maroon. Set up a still in the bed and you'd have a fun cruiser.

My in-laws have a '29 Model A roadster pickup in pieces which I've been trying to eke my way into restoring - this is giving me evil thoughts.

This post is more than appropriately timed, coming right after Wednesday, when we are collectively over the yump.

All it needs now is a little fish-schlapp!

The two-tone paint is about the only thing going for that particular van. It's nice to see an old survivor like that, but yeesh... the cut corners are so blatant. A true conversion van would be so much better, but wouldn't fix the issues with the front-row seating and dashboard.

Still though... people overlook the very same crudeness in trucks and of the day live with it, calling them "utilitarian" and "functional". Which is exactly what this is: a Taxi for 10. There's no other reason you buy one... and with 8-10 passengers, there's little room for "creature comforts".

Trying to kid ourselves otherwise is why we have today's bloat, and 5-passenger SUVs that take up nearly the same space while offering little more in the way of utility.
