My kids gave me one of these for Christmas from Cabelas. They had found a batch from the Ukrane. Completely packed away with cosmoline and rust free. The one they got for me had never been fired, but the baylnet had been attached and removed several times leading me to think it was a bayonet training weapon more than a fighting rifle.
As this writer said, not a work of art but completely functional and rugged. Matches up well to my 7mm Argentine Mauser.

Here you have two arrogant asses from either end of the political sprectrum. One is self absorbed because he is a Congressman and the other because he is an "intellectual". I doubt that either earns the salaries WE pay both. Does the Professor actually teach classes or does he have grad students do that for him?
Clean out Congress, but also look to the higher education institutions and clear them out of "tenured" Professors. Our kids can't afford college because of these intellectuals who have never actually done what they profess to teach others.

14 years ago @ Big Government - I've asked my Representative to put forward a bill that does away with the special treatment members receive on taking lobbyists money and insider trading. I've asked him to call for a roll call vote. The measure will not pass, but these Congessmen and women need to have thir vote plastered all over the press.

The State Department will shoot this new route down because it makes to much sense. Obama will still decide not to decide and will allow the EPA and State Department to create policy again.

How can you go from being the poster boy for partisan politics to trying to sound like an outsider? After being in office more than half a term, he can't possibly expect people to believe he is an political outsider, can he?

Remember when TARP wa rolled out, they said "Tim Geithner is the only person who understands it". That raised a red flag to me then and he should have never been "installed". Any time Geithner says something you can count on the opposite happening.

These programs were like the unions; necessary at the time but morphed into the thing they were to protect against. My Dad was a small farmer with 80 acres. He had wanted to apply for the programs, but it didn't pay enough for him to do it because his land was so poor. Only produced about 50 bushel of corn to the acre. In the same County a farmer owned 3000 acres and received several thousand dollars in subsidy payments.
These programs have only encouraged large corporate farms at the expense of the small family farm. As with the unions, they have run their course.
