Religion doesn't even come in a close second to the amount of evil done in the name of secular ideologies.

The 85 million - 100 million people murdered in the name of Communism is an important example.

Oh yes, and the Soviet Union consistently said there was freedom of religion in their country.

Sorry, it's been well documented that the Nazi ideology was anti-God. They were replacing God.

And as President, Jefferson regularly attended church services held in the US Capitol building itself.

Actually it's well documented that Nazism was a secular ideology. Nazism was the new "religion."

Actually the founders were not Deists. (Ben Franklin claimed to be a Deist before he was an adult, but as an adult his views contradicted Deism.) But yes, one can argue that many of the Founders were neither Christians either. It would be more correct to say that their beliefs were between Deism and Christianity.

Actually, Madison's orginal wording of what is now the First Amendment was changed to ensure that state governments could endorse religion as they saw fit. Indeed, Massachusetts had state government funded clergy thru the early 1830s.

It was Van Jones' vicious racism that sunk him just as much as his Truther status.

And dont' forget, it was Obama who was a member of a viciously racist church for nearly 20 years, had the vicious racist Van Jones on his staff, came to the defense of the racism of the racist Prof. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and nominated a racist to the Supreme Ct.
