Can't argue with that. Sucks that the offense seems to be clicking right now while the SP is shitting the bed. Now -that- feels familiar from the last two years -- one being hot while the other is cold.

Because the offense is very obviously good, that's why. What on earth makes you think otherwise?

Yeah, the offense was awful last year. We only came in third in the league in runs scored! That was totally a problem.

Agreed. I hate it when GMs put a bandaid on the most obvious problem and ignore other things. I think the Mets have enough this year but they really should have bagged another SP.

Your math is wrong. 11 against the Dodgers, 20 against the Giants.

The "it's still early" thing means it's too early to conclude the Mets are a .500 team based on their performance. It doesn't mean that the games right now don't count and that they will obviously catch up to the Marlins.

And the two losses were one run games, and in the first the winning run was on a balk, and in the second the tying run was prevented by a fan. It's flukey shit happening to a good team facing a very hot playing over their heads team.

This is the 1st place Padres they lost to. Keep that in mind.

Okay, I guess it's semantics. He had a 4.18 ERA last year. That's hardly something to scream at him about his maturity level about.

That was a good loss. Maine looked fantastic at first, then lost it. Second start since coming back from injury, I'll certainly give him the benefit of the doubt. Anytime your offense plates five runs, you have to be happy with that. Bullpen was sparkling as usual.

This is the best looking losing record team I think I've ever seen ;).
