This is why I feel so little compassion for California. Don't talk to me about bailing out a state who is still more worried about little fish, frogs, whales, or vegetation than it is taking care of its people and its fiscal health. I am not opposed to taking care of the environment, but I am opposed to NOT taking care of your people or your state budget. I understand there is about to be a massive increase in the cost of food. It surprises me that no one has figured out that they can make more money by turning the water back on and raising crops. The smelt contribute nothing.
Okay, the interviews have changed over the past week, but my understanding is the issue is not mostly the increased payments for pensions and health care, but rather the fact that the union would no longer be able to collectively bargain their compensation. I think they realized the national cameras were on them and suddenly got reasonable about the money so they didn't look selfish. I am afraid this is just the beginning of months of unrest in this country. Bless Gov. Walker, he cannot fold. This is going to happen in many states, and if he gives in this country is economically lost.
I hope you are right. I think it will be a volatile situation and I worry for the next Kenneth Gladney.
Its about time. And if they cant get him on this, perhaps, like Al Capone, they can get him on something else. There's plenty there to investigate I suspect.
I prefer to leave the damning of others to hell up to God. He is more than capable of dealing with folks, and thank goodness I don't have to be responsible for determining where one spends eternity based on what I see, and not what is in someone's heart.
Lets just say, the guy is not winning the hearts and minds of America anymore, and leave it at that.

Its good this is out. And I hope the next few weeks are really nasty and revealing so we can get all the corrupt and pompous out of Congress, regardless of party. I am so tired of lofty, above the law, politicians. I am ready for a fleet of real people who will apply common sense to our problems.
