Last night I saw, on the National Geographic Chanel, a documentery called "Leatherneck", based on a Marine fortress of the same name, in the center of Afganstand.
All the equipment, all the personnel, all the need to succeed, and all of the goodwill I saw, vs whomever they are fighting.
There is no doubt in this observers mind that we, the US, are in a losing situation.
The enemy, mostly dressed in raggs, are capable of installing home made bombs where ever they please. I saw a squad of Marines walking away, in discomfort, from a seemingly unarmed group of locals in a small town.
Every car that was stoped on the roadway was a potential bomb.
Nope, In my view, this is a lost cause.

What is so wrong in having a bank fail?
All kinds of commercial establishments fail every day with no one to bail them out.
It is a lot cheaper to have the feds pay out the depositer's insurance than it is to pay off the bad paper.
Once-upon-a-time there were too many auto repair shops. Many went out of business. Same with other commercial enterprises.
There are too many bad banks out there with bad investmensts on bad paper.
Let them fail. It will clean the air.

Mr. Dodd is like all of these political theives who find their apologies after they are caught.. Too bad they keep getting re-elected. Who's fault is that I wonder.

The only way that I know of to get rid of these pests is with pest control.
I think that lobbing a few grenads over the side or using a small hand held missle would do the job; the object being for these pests to be missing from their nests.
I guess that non-lethal defense courses are a good profit center for the schools. It will not get rid of the pirates.
The Barbary pirates did their nastiness for 300 years until the U.S. Navy got rid of them in 1815.
