It's happening all over RF. The county did a walk-through looking for code violations but it wasn't very thorough. Rats have been spotted in our alley and some neighbors and I passed out fliers to everyone in the alley letting them know about the problem and encouraging everyone to keep their yards free of dog feces and to keep their garbage cans tightly sealed but some still don't do that.

When I told my son, who attends RFES, about the plan, the first thing he said was, "But they just put in all new windows! Why would they do that if they were planning to tear it down?" I don't know the answer, but it's a good question. What a waste of money.

My understanding (and I could be wrong or they could change plans) is that students would attend the current RFES while the new one is built, so they wouldn't be going to Carver at all.

I think the main problem with doing an addition to RFES is that they would likely not make the cafeteria or gym any larger and then it would be almost the same situation as we had when the school was so overcrowded. Maybe they could turn the current RFES site back into field space?

Whether or not you think there should have been a delay/early closing, and I'm kind of ambivalent, it seems the policy should be a little more consistent.
