What a great contrast shown in this article between the selflessness of teenager Matt Moniz and the self-centeredness of Kim Hess. So glad some/many youth have the sense to help humanity, most especially after a national tragedy.

I don't know either people but I wish much success to the efforts of Matt and his brethren.

Often solar PV systems can sell their electricity between $.065 to $.084/kWh (in 2014 real dollars) over the lifetime of the project. NG peaker plants are ~$.12/kWh because they run infrequently and need to recoup their money in 200 to 400 hours/year. Coal plants are $.023 to $.03/kWh at the interconnection point to the transmission network.

Another corporate schmuck sticking it to his employees. This time for doing not only what is honorable and heart-warming but for asking the corporation for doing that same.

"Several of her co-workers decided to pitch in to cover the tab, according to WIVB. When word spread to the firefighters, Levia said, they called to complain to her boss because they thought the fast-food restaurant made her feel obligated to pay with her own money."

The employees (whom I would venture to guess make much less than $30,000 a year) opened their wallets and hearts while McDo owner Tom Meyer pushed Heather Levia out the door. Talk about what's wrong with this country.

My goodness! People, when are we going to stand up for ourselves, our communities, our values? Time to kick this corporation out (as well as its pathetic owner).
