I dont think this would work as you would still need one end to have a fixed IP so the other side could connect to it and bring up the tunnel.

What errors are you getting ?

Few things you may want to try/check...
-- Try (compile) older versions of the wireless drivers mentioned in this article
-- Upgrade the firmware of your wireless card

I am able to download them for where I am. Did you your last comment mean that you have reinstalled the drivers as root ?

I would compile and install them as root. If that fails trying compiling and installing older versions. I have read on other forums that this has resolved issues such as you are seeing.

When you compile the drivers do you get any errors ?
Can you try compiling and installing the old versions of the drivers i.e compat-wireless 2.6.37....
