I faced the same problem & after 4-5 try I got error 23 messg on the iTune which means I screwed up my phone for ever so far. My Friend if you are also getting the same messg means u r in the same boat if not u r lucky so far.

yes I tried with DFU mode. I used redsn0w 0.9.6b5 and b6. but all in vain.
