We hear you, we hear you.

We have a rogue group of millennial employees who maintain a blog, The Millennial Mafia. This post was originally geared for this audience and ran on that site. If hindsight is 20/20, perhaps it should’ve stayed there.

Monnie,

I completed my degree through an extended degree program through a state university in my area. Many of my courses were "independent study" in the days before online courses were available.

I've always felt it was important that the college or university had a good reputation and a faculty that was understanding of the busy lives of non-traditional students. I think the degree itself is a big factor in opening doors to career opportunities, while the degree track becomes crucial if you're planning to do something specialized like nursing.

What about it, readers? Can any of you tell Monnie what's most important in choosing a good online degree program?
