You make a completely sane statement and I appreciate your reality check.  I was aiming more at a rhetorical look at how people who profess to follow Christ are, at times, passive aggressive and cruel to one another.  As far as talking about Jesus, isn't that part of my job as a believer tho?  :)

I am not sure we can, unless a local liquor store gets it. Its > 6%, so we would have to be lucky. Should we start canvassing the local booze shops you think?

For every current teabagger, there was someone on the other side saying the same thing last year when Bush did it.  For every person who thinks Obama is acting in the best interest of the country, there is someone who thought the same thing when Bush collected the information warrantlessly.  Amazing how political alliance makes us look at the same action by 2 different men as completely different actions no matter if the reasoning is the same or not.  Apparently, Bush got it all wrong, but Obama is doing it all right...yet the intent hasn't changed.  I wonder what would have happened if Bush had been a better speaker....

Just 2 comments:

1.  The presidency does not come with a "probationary" period.  For a man with so much "change" in mind and so many political promises, I haven't seen anything but the same. I am not a fan of either Bush nor Obama, but this is a trend that has happened throughout history.  I just tire of so many pretending that THIS stimulus plan is needed when they were the same ones lambasting Bush for a stimulus last year. 

2.  It bothers me because their primary rallying cry during the campaign was "Voting for McCain is a vote for more of the same!".  From what I read, there will still be wiretapping and it's just a different person saying "it's for the best...we are protecting you" when Bush gave us the same dish of hot crap, the same people who are cheering Obama were ready to hang Bush.  It's the same policies recycled again and again with a fresh coat of crap on top.

The forefathers were much smarter than us and they built the system to allow both the right wing idiocy of George Bush and John McCain as well as the smug sense of self important idiocy that Obama carries in his front pocket next to his latest set of freshly ironed out speech notes.  To have faith in either man, party or idealism to the point of overlooking the distinct similarities that exist for whatever reason is complete nonsense and blind faith in a human who has the weight of the world on their backs.

I don't expect anyone to turn this ship around in 90 days.  I was merely pointing out that his ship has seemed to run out of steam pretty quick after he got the Change a-movin during the campaign.  Now if Wyclef could only write a song about fake policy and the fact that we will be cheering for a republican in 4 or 8 years because that's the natural cycle that the forefathers intended.

My comments were mostly because I have had my blog turned into a straight up argument harbor for people who disagreed with every opinion, album review or idea that I posted. I tend to err on the side of safety now when I share an opinion. I probably need to get out of that bad habit. :)
