I find that for my own sanity, I stay away from Black Friday. I already have a difficult time as it is with people cutting in line and forgetting their manners. Multiply that times 1000 and you have Black Friday. I like to think of myself as a fairly patient guy, but I will end up losing my cool and probably not being the salt and light that I am called to be in my community. I'm with you...I'm staying home, reading the paper, and shopping online. ;)

My wife will also have just returned from a 2-week missions trip to Uganda so I have a feeling our Christmas will look a little more like this...

Check your headline...should it say "...in 5 Minutes" instead of "...is 5 Minutes"? ;)

I view FFL as entertainment as well. Our league requires a $20 entry fee which I have found keeps people motivated to stick with it throughout the year. The free leagues I've played in seem to have members that check out half-way through the season.

So what's your team name? Mine? The Roaring Lambs. Go Lambs!

In my professional experience (in the secular world), I've found it difficult to find techies with decent communication skills. Plus you gotta tag on the ministry experience on top of it.

I'm kind of that hybrid myself. Degree in marketing but my career took a curve and I worked in Web development and Internet marketing for several years before focusing more on brand management (still running point on Internet marketing). Then I serve as a volunteer worship leader at our church on top of juggling an active family and side business.

Your best work yet! One of my good friends also just named her little one Finnegan. Great minds think alike!

Are you saying you want to be friends with me? hehe. ;)

I agree. I would be more open to your opinion if we had some sort of history either in the real life or online.

Peace,
ECC

I don't think this is past the point of discussion. There are plenty of people IN the ELCA church who know little to nothing about the passing of the social statement. Furthermore, my boss, for example, JUST started attending our church. The pastor recently spoke about the social statement being passed and it totally confused her as she knew nothing about the vote. (heck of a first impression by the way)

So while I think there are plenty of people who have a hard-line opinion on this subject, there are still plenty of others who are new to the discussion. I don't think this is a once and done conversation so I think it's healthy to continue to dialogue about it.

By the way, I won't be designing Faithbook or Godspace t-shirts either. ;)

I would work at Deviant Media Group. ;)

I am actually in the process of trying to launch my dream - a faith-based apparel company. More later...
